Kathmandu / Daraz, Nepal's online marketplace, held its first annual Daraz Summit in Kathmandu. The day-long event featured three different panels with experts in their respective fields.
Keynote speakers included Dr. Ganesh
Prasad Pandeya, Secretary, Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies and Dr.
Baikuntha Aryal, Secretary, MoCIT as well as special guest, Kewal Prasad
Bhandari, Member of Secretary, National Planning Commission.
Aanchal Kunwar, Managing Director of
Daraz Nepal commenced the event, explaining how Daraz aims to make a cultural
impact by uplifting communities through the power of commerce. She expressed
that the company “wants to be an active channel of change and a stepping stone
in this dialogue”.
The three panels covered the topics ‘From
Conventional Commerce to E-commerce in Nepal’, ‘Blending of the Market Place
and Commerce for Digital Economy’, and ‘Uplifting Communities through the Power
of Digital Commerce in Nepal’. Panelists included in these discussions were Guru
Prasad Paudel, NRB; Ambica Shrestha, Dwarika’s Hotel; Omesh Lal Shrestha, CAS
Solution and Silver Lining; and Bimal Aryal, Daraz Nepal, Suresh Shrestha, Department
of Industry; Shankar Uprety, Hamro Patro; Ayush Shrestha, Cloud Factory; and Santosh
Pandey, OHO Cake and Offering Happiness Gobinda Bahadur Karkee, Ministry of
Industry, Commerce and Supplies; Dileep Agrawal, Worldlink Communications;
Sanjib Subba, NePS and Aanchal Kunwar, Daraz Nepal.
Before concluding the event, Pranayna
KC, Head of Marketing, Daraz Nepal, extended gratitude and honor on behalf of
the entire organization to all guests and participants of Daraz Summit 2022.
