Kathmandu – To celebrate its 21st anniversary in Nepal, MetLife Nepal held an Insurance Awareness Walkathon in Lalitpur on Saturday. The walkathon was organized to help build awareness about the importance of insurance in helping people across Nepal live a more confident future. Over 300 MetLife employees and sales associates participated in the walkathon, covering 4.5 kilometers, where Mr. Dev Kishor Lal, Head of Operations officially inaugurated the event and addressed the participants highlighting the growing need of insurance as more than 60% of the country’s population is not under insurance protection.
Since
opening for business on 5th December 2001, MetLife Nepal has come a
long way and today provides insurance protection for more than 1 million lives.
MetLife has paid over NRS 316 Crores in claims and supported the career growth
of more than 45,000 employees and sales associates. Additionally, MetLife has
played a substantial role in developing the insurance sector in Nepal by leading
the way in digitized services, unique insurance solutions and fostering talent
growth through career development opportunities.
