Speaking at
a business and human rights discussion programme held in Bangkok, Thailand on
Tuesday, President Dhakal said that the increasing growth in production and
productivity will create an environment that protects the rights of both
investors and workers.
Similarly,
he stated that all sectors cannot move forward without providing opportunities
for small and medium-sized entrepreneurs to thrive. He emphasised that the
government and development partners should pay attention to the rights of small
entrepreneurs.
Likewise, he
emphasised that all sectors should work together to formalise the informal
sector and the workers employed there. Informing that a strategy is being
developed for formalisation, President Dhakal stated that everyone should take
the initiative for sustainable economic development.
President
Dhakal also stated that the FNCCI is sensitive to human rights issues and is
willing to attract investment by encouraging responsible business practices.
